Remove claimed content from videos

If your video has a copyright claim, there may be restrictions on where the video is available or whether information technology can be monetized.

If the claim is for audio in the video, you lot have a few options to remove these restrictions:

  • Trim out the role of the video with a copyright claim
  • Supplant the song with audio from our Audio Library
  • Mute the song

If the merits is for something else, y'all tin can:

  • Trim out the part of the video with a copyright claim

Annotation: If your video is over half-dozen hours long, you may non be able to save changes. Likewise, if your channel is not in the YouTube Partner Plan, you may not exist able to save changes if your video has over 100,000 views.

  1. Sign in to YouTube Studio.
  2. From the left card, click Content.
  3. Filter for Copyright claims.

Trim out segment

This option lets you lot completely remove the section of your video with the copyright merits.

  1. Click SELECT Activity and then Trim out segment.
  2. (Optional) Edit the start time and end time of the section yous're removing.
  3. Click Proceed and then TRIM.

If some of the claimed content stays in your video, the merits won't be released.

Mute vocal (audio claims only)

This option lets you mute the claimed song in your video. You can choose whether to mute just the song or all sound in the video.

  1. Click SELECT Action and thenMute vocal.
  2. Choose how you lot'd similar to mute.
    • Mute all audio when vocal plays
      • This selection mutes all audio during the part of the video with claimed audio.
    • Mute song merely (beta)
      • This option mutes just the claimed song. Other audio, like dialog or sound effects, won't exist muted.
      • This edit ordinarily takes longer and might not work if the song is hard to remove.
  3. (Optional) Edit the start fourth dimension and cease fourth dimension of the audio mute.
